Italian shipyard Permare has begun construction on its first 70 metre steel unit, named Amer 70 Steel, at its facilities on Italy’s northeastern coast.

Construction began in March 2022, and the 70 metre displacement-hull superyacht will be completed in 2026. She will be delivered to a European client.

The Amer 70 Steel features contemporary exteriors from Antonio Luxardo with interiors from Luxury Projects Studio to the initiative of esteemed designer Laura Pomponi. La Spezia-based Optima will contribute to the yacht’s styling.

As well as generous spaces and state-of-the-art amenities, the yacht will have a number of features that will make it “stylistically innovative”, according to the yard.

The yacht will be built with a “dedicated supply chain” that gives priority to Ligurian and Tuscan regions and their workers, ensuring a high build quality. As with all Permare yachts, the project will be closely overseen by the Amerio family. Quality control is managed by Ligurian engineer Giulio Riva, who has thirty years of experience in the steel industry and has contributed to many major successful refits at Permare’s San Remo yard.

Low-consumption cruising is an important component of the yacht’s build. This unit will be the first to be constructed in steel, representing a huge milestone for the Italian yard.

The yard has four units in build currently, including two Amer 120s. According to BOATPro data, there are at least ten Permare yachts for sale
