Astra Nord and The A Group present 65m concept inspired by Monégasque cove

German shipyard Astra Nord and Monaco-based studio The A Group (TAG) took the opportunity of the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 to unveil a new collaborative yacht design, known as Ciappaira, Project A-730.

The 65-metre motor yacht is the third in a new portfolio of designs to be built at the Astra Nord shipyard and has been presented as a new build project.

TAG is responsible for both the exterior and interior of Ciappaira - the name chosen as a homage to Plage Ciappaira, a near-invisible cove below the Rock of Monaco, secluded and known mainly only to those who live there. According to the designers, inspiration for the design stemmed from this ethos, resulting in a yacht designed as a discreet escape for a family, defined by “simple, natural luxury, calm materials and light that changes through the day”.

Long, layered decks, timber-lined overhangs and generous glazing characterise Ciappaira, alongside a transom designed in stone, echoing the rock it is inspired by.

“With Ciappaira, we envisioned a yacht inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle, where naval architecture and interior design come together with a shared ambition: to deliver an exceptional onboard experience and achieve a subtle balance between contemporary and timeless elegance,” explained TAG’s architect, Jérôme Hein.

The yacht spans 1,567GT across five decks, including a dedicated family deck, with a “family lounge” aft and an owner’s suite, with a private foredeck and a spa pool, forward. Below, the main deck features the main saloon, dining room and five guest cabins, while the upper deck above opens aft for an al fresco dining terrace.

In terms of amenities, the main aft deck is a notable highlight, extending the living areas outwards thanks to a large lounge and a 4.2 x 3.6-metre pool. Closer to the water still, the stern opens into a beach club, where guests can enjoy another lounge and pool as well as a sauna, hammam and fitness area, flanked by fold-down terraces.

Founder of Astra Nord, Theodoros Fotiadis, concluded: “Ciappaira is a yacht you understand the moment you see her.TAG has drawn her with the eye of an architect and the knowledge of a builder. Our task is to carry that to the water exactly as it was intended, and to find the family she was drawn for.”

Key specs of Ciappaira include a 12-metre beam and a 3.8-metre draught.
