Italian shipyard Baglietto has announced the delivery of the first unit from its flagship T60 series, christened Kinda II. The 60.6-metre new build marks a significant milestone for the builders, as the largest yacht ever built in its 172-year history, surpassing its previous flagship, the 59.4-metre Vicky, which was delivered in 2008.
Kinda II first hit the water in March at the yard's La Spezia facilities and is scheduled to make her global debut at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show. Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski Design is responsible for the entire design of the flagship series, developing the interiors in collaboration with Margherita Casprini, combining "timeless elegance" with lighter, seemingly suspended hull sides and Baglietto's defining black-glass band, which integrates the portholes.
Among the most innovative of features is her layout, which seemingly blurs the traditional boundaries between the interior and exterior spaces. Fully retractable, full-height glazing across the main salon and upper deck allows the interiors to maintain an unbroken connection to the water. The T60 can accommodate guests in two VIP and two guest cabins on the main deck, with a fifth guest cabin situated on the lower deck. Further accommodation sleeps a crew of 13.
The upper deck serves as an exclusive owner's suite featuring a private office, walk-in wardrobe and spacious bathroom with separate facilities. A lounge flows through to the outdoor dining area, while a Jacuzzi and sunpads adorn the deck.
A notable highlight on board can be found closer to the water, where the beach area, main saloon and dining room combine to create a spectacular two-level living space, enhanced by a 60-square-metre beach lounge featuring a swimming pool, gym, bar and "conversation area". Further amenities include a professional galley and fully equipped wellness area, featuring a spa with a massage room, sauna and hammam.
The sundeck hosts the wheelhouse, the Captain's cabin and further lounge and sunbathing areas, while the garage can accommodate a seven-metre tender, two jet skis and a rescue tender. Taking pride of place on her foredeck is a touch-and-go helicopter landing platform. The T60 is powered by twin Caterpillar engines delivering a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
Baglietto CEO, Diego Michele Deprati, commented on the delivery: "The delivery of the first T60 represents a milestone in Baglietto's history. Not only does it mark the completion of the largest yacht ever built, but it represents the achievement of a strategic objective that we have pursued with determination over recent years. The fact that this is the first of three 60-metre yachts already sold and currently under construction demonstrates the confidence that owners and the market place in our vision and in our ability to deliver increasingly ambitious projects."
According to the yard, the delivery represents a milestone in Baglietto's growth strategy, which in recent years has included investing approximately €25,000,000 to expand its production facilities, drive technical innovation and strengthen its know-how by 2030.
Exclusive data from BOATPro revealed the shipyard to have 19 yachts currently under development, including the first unit from its flagship DOM model, the 46.9-metre DOM155, with delivery scheduled for 2029. Baglietto also recently confirmed the sale of the third T60 yacht.
