Italian shipyard Baglietto has announced the sale of the first unit from its flagship 46.9-metre DOM155 yacht model, with delivery scheduled for 2029.
The new build has been sold to a "highly experienced client and a long-time enthusiast of the Baglietto brand", according to the yard, with build captain Simon Mackay providing support for his second project with the shipyard.
The DOM155 was unveiled to the industry in January as the largest offering in the yard's DOM superyacht line – which also includes the 34.5-metre DOM115 and the 40.9-metre DOM133 – and an evolution of Baglietto's “Roman domus at sea” concept. The sub-500GT displacement motor yacht is said to offer "larger volumes and enhanced livability".
Long-time Baglietto collaborator Stefano Vafiadis returned for the model's design, using clean, sculptural lines to characterise the yacht's sporty profile. The interiors of the first unit will be drawn by Italian designer Leonardo Santi, who has already signed several projects within the DOM line.
Model highlights include the stern, which has been conceived as a versatile wellness area with an infinity pool and a large beach club that can serve as a spa, gym or an additional garage, and a 130-square-metre sundeck with 360-degree views, a lounge area and a pool. Throughout, full-height glazing offers bright living areas, while open layouts provide seamless indoor-outdoor living.
“We are very pleased with this sale, which comes just a few months after the project was first unveiled to the market earlier this year,” said Fabio Ermetto, chief commercial officer of Baglietto. “The fact that the owner is already an enthusiast of our brand further confirms the growth path we are pursuing and the strength and credibility of our offering. The DOM155 fits perfectly within this vision, embodying a yacht distinguished by a high degree of customisation, exceptional comfort and outstanding volumes. We are fully confident that it will establish itself as a benchmark in the under-500GT segment.”
Power for the model is from twin CAT C32 engines, offering a top speed of 16 knots. An aluminium construction and shallow draught ensure high performance and an array of cruising opportunities.
According to BOATPro, Baglietto currently has 19 yachts on order or under construction. The sale marks Baglietto's third new order in two weeks, which also included the 14th DOM133 and the third T60.
