Italian yard Cantiere delle Marche (CDM) has launched the first unit in its RJ 155 series, christened RJ. At 46.9 metres, she is the yard's largest project to date.
RJ is an evolution of the owner's former RJ 130, launched in 2021 as RJ (now Nuri). Conceived as a "pure-bred" explorer, the build comes complete with a steel hull, "top-tier equipment" and range of over 5,000 nautical miles.
"We’re thrilled with the RJ line’s appeal and honoured that a returning client has entrusted us with such a significant project," said Ennio Cecchini, president and co-founder of CDM. "Impressed by both [the] performance and comfort of his former RJ130, the owner chose to upgrade to a larger RJ to better suit his evolving needs."
Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski is responsible for the signature lines of the RJ range, and has designed this model with elongated overhangs and oversized stern verandas. Naval architecture has been handled by Pierluigi Ausonio.
The RJ 155 model is set across three decks plus a sundeck with a gross tonnage that sits below the 500GT threshold. Interiors are styled by Achille Salvagni, including much of the loose furniture, with an owner's brief that specified accommodation for up to 12 guests in five cabins. The owner's suite is located on the main deck forward with a large "super-equipped" gym.
"We are extremely satisfied about the appeal of the RJ series," said Vasco Buonpensiere, sales and marketing director at CDM. "We are also very honoured by the confidence that another of our existing clients has put in us to deliver such an extraordinary vessel, which undoubtedly, will bring Cantiere delle Marche to another level."
Power comes from twin Caterpillar C32 Acert WOSR engines delivering a top speed of 15 knots with two pairs of electric stabilisers for the ultimate comfort during long passages at sea. Combined with fuel tanks with a total capacity of 65,000 litres, the RJ155 will be able to travel over 5,000 nautical miles at nine knots without the need to refuel.
Other highlights include large exterior decks and more than sufficient toy and tender storage split between the foredeck and lazarette.
According to BOATPro, Cantiere delle Marche has 17 superyacht projects currently in production. The largest of these are the yard's three Flexplorer 165 models, which were sold in April 2024, July 2024 and December 2024.
