58 metre Codecasa undergoes technical launch

5 August 2022• Written by Katia Damborsky

The 57.8 metre Codecasa, known only as hull C127, has undergone its technical launch in Pisa, Italy at the Darsena dei Navicelli facilities.

The yacht will now be moved to Viareggio for outfitting, with delivery expected in summer 2023.

The yacht is being built on speculation and has been described by the yard as both “elegant” and “gritty”.

In a statement, the yard said that the Codecasa technical team, headed by Mr Gianluca Imeri with Mr Pierluigi Ausonio’s co-operation, was “very proud” of the preliminary results achieved by the superyacht.

It features a fast-displacement hull built in steel, which has been optimised to allow the yacht to reach speeds in excess of 20 knots. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, it will have a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Speaking about the yacht’s engineering, Imeri shared the long process that the yacht had been through to get to this point. “The results of the various resistance and self-propulsion tests provided even more positive resistance data in the whole speed range, especially with respect to values around the 20 knot target."

Design comes from Codecasa’s in-house team, working in close collaboration with Milanese studio M2 Atelier.

The yacht offers guest accommodation across six cabins, including a spacious owner’s suite, with six double crew cabins and a captain’s cabin.

Onboard highlights include a beach club with a folding shell door that forms a swim platform, along with a gym, and a four metre swimming pool on the sundeck.

Alongside C127, Codecasa has a 43 metre project in the works called C124, with delivery scheduled for summer next year.
