First look on board Columbus Yachts' 38m Atlantique yacht Principessa Capricciosa

Columbus Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, has shared the interior images of the first unit from its 38-metre Atlantique model, Principessa Capricciosa, ahead of her global debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. She will also be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show in the same month.

The yacht hit the water in March as the fourth yacht built within the yard's Atlantique line, unveiling her clean and slightly sporty silhouette from Milanese studio Hot Lab, which "recalls the timeless silhouette of classic sailing yachts". The 38-metre model stands as the "most compact" offering in the Atlantique line, which ranges from yachts up to 65 metres.

The all-aluminium build was first seen in 2024 when her hull and superstructure were joined, almost a year after her sale was confirmed in 2023, with Assia and Salvatore Mele of Mele Yacht introducing the buyer.

According to BOATPro, Principessa Capricciosa was delivered in June

Eyes are first drawn to the yacht's aft cockpit area, which has been conceived as a "true terrace overlooking the sea", according to the shipyard. Two drop-down balconies expand the space, complemented by a large sofa, oversized pouffes and a bespoke cocktail bar, while sitting just 50cm above the water.

The interior of Principessa Capricciosa is notably contemporary - characterised by cream lacquered wood panelling, grey-beige tones and light marble inserts, with pops of colour through vibrant artwork and sculptures. The main saloon welcomes guests with twin white Minotti sofas, armchairs and a central coffee table, bordered by large floor-to-ceiling windows and a large television.

The main deck and upper deck lobbies feature a bespoke lighting design

Accommodation on board the 299GT yacht is for up to 12 guests across four en-suite double cabins on the lower deck (two convertible into twins and fitted with a Pullman berth) and a full-beam owner's suite forward of the main deck.

Here, the owner can enjoy a warm colour palette, with amenities including two bathrooms, a central marble-clad shower, a generous walk-in wardrobe and a private terrace. Nearby, there is a wellness area with a sunken treadmill and views through a large picture-frame window. Each guest cabin welcomes its own distinct scheme, with each bathroom decorated with marble details. Forward, six crew plus the captain are accommodated in four cabins.

The dining area on board is located aft on the upper deck for up to ten guests; a defining feature is the large fold-away side glazing which transforms the area into a terrace overlooking the stern. The sundeck is externally connected to the sundeck, where lies a generous sunbathing area and a secondary helm station. Completing the upper deck is a forward-facing pool with an integrated sunpad and sofa.

Watersports equipment is housed in a dedicated garage and includes a five-metre tender and a personal watercraft, positioned aft on the starboard side. A second storage space, situated beneath the staircase connecting the beach area to the lounge, contains a selection of Seabobs.

The shipyard also gave notable attention to the yacht's "state-of-the-art" audio system, which was custom-made for an owner with a particular appreciation for "uncompromising sound quality".

Naval architecture was completed in-house by the shipyard in collaboration with Names by Francesco Rogantin. With a semi-planing hull and twin 2,000hp MAN engines, Principessa Capricciosa can reach a maximum speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 17.6 knots.

According to BOATPro, Columbus Yachts has two yachts currently under construction, including the latest 38-metre Atlantique unit. The shipyard celebrated the launch of its first Crossover 42 model, Big Naan, last year.
