Odisye: Daroca Design and SP.9 studio team up on 50m concept

London-based design firm SP.9 has teamed up with Spanish studio Daroca Design on a 50 metre superyacht concept named Odisye. The project's design is defined by a “Yin/Yang approach” that mixes sporty exteriors with soft and elegant interiors.

Speaking about the design brief, Daroca’s founder and chief executive officer Alejandro Crespo said: “Odisye is designed with the modern yacht owner in mind. Elegant and energetic, the concept’s exterior design reflects the way of thinking of this new generation”.

Four separate decks cascade down the aft side of the concept. At the top, the sundeck boasts a Jacuzzi and bar, while the bridge deck aft caters for formal lunches and dinners or meetings via a large al fresco table that seats up to 16 guests.

The concepts curvy interiors contrast with its sporty exteriors

The main deck features soft seating for socialising in a more relaxed setting, while the beach club plays host to a sea-level TV lounge with a 360 degree ocean view. Odiseye’s bow is extremely inclined, with a dark blue and metallic anthracite coloured hull for a striking exterior profile.

Moving inside, the interiors provide a feeling of calm thanks to SP.9’s muted, welcoming colour palette.

“I was inspired by the strong personality of new owners, who love the antithesis of sporty chicness and curvilinear elegance with a touch ancestral artistry”, said SP.9’s creative director Pei Li.

The main saloon features a marble floor that reflects the light along the ceiling and offers a large sofa with a dining table aft. Sectioned off by a translucent glass wall, an adjacent wine-tasting room is a sanctuary of privacy that keeps with the airy feel of the interiors.

Accommodation comes for 10 guests in five cabins comprising one master cabin, three VIP guest cabins and a twin. All display a meticulous choice of textures and materials including green onyx, panels of leather and embroidered silk.
