The 27.5-metre Cheoy Lee explorer yacht, Doubleyou, once owned by the renowned American singer Jimmy Buffett, has been listed for auction with G3 Auctions. The 24-hour auction will begin at 11.00am (EST) on the 4th September 2025.
Said to have inspired several songs written by the late singer-songwriter – many while he was lounging in the crow's nest – Doubleyou is the only Cheoy Lee 90 Expedition model designed by American yacht designer Tom Fexas, boasting a navy blue hull with a bulbous bow and a neat, two-deck cream superstructure.
She underwent an extensive interior refit in Indonesia, completed in 2020, that focused on the main saloon, skylounge, bridge and guest cabins. The upgraded, modern styling brought a fresh touch to the yacht's otherwise traditional aesthetic, penned by Melody Savio, with the now relaxed interior reminiscent of a Hamptons beach house with an understated colour palette, white timber flooring and deckhead panels.
Doubleyou's main saloon features sweeping windows, mirrored seating and a large dining table. Her galley is well-equipped and spans the yacht's full beam (6.6 metres) – the port side fitted with a dinette area for informal dining and additional preparation space. Above, the skylounge acts as a multifunctional zone with direct access to the aft deck, fitted with an L-shaped bar with seating, a wide, forward-facing sofa and desk space.
Nine guests are accommodated in four guest cabins divided into two areas on the lower deck. The master suite and VIP cabin are situated to aft, both cabins being full-beam and well-appointed with ample storage, while two further guest cabins are located amidships with twin berths and an additional Pullman berth in the starboard cabin.
The yacht's exterior styling is that of a traditional explorer yacht with wide side decks and an open foredeck for tender and cruising gear storage, as required, all launched via a handy hydraulic crane.
"My favourite part of the yacht is the pilothouse, which was designed for socialising with friends," shared Doubleyou's current owner. "It also allows me to personally pilot the boat. I specifically chose Doubleyou because, beyond her size, one would typically need a full crew to operate (and drive) the vessel. Although I’ve enjoyed plenty of time aboard, it’s time for her to have a new owner."
Cassidy Woods of breezeYachting, one of the original listing brokers, said: "Doubleyou is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to have autonomy at sea in comfort and ease without a hefty price tag. The fact that it was owned and loved by none other than Jimmy Buffett adds a special draw for me as I am a big fan. I also have it on good authority that many celebrities have graced its decks over the years – but I'll remain tight-lipped about who they are."
Doubleyou's original listing price was $2,700,000. The minimum auction bid will be $1,200,000.
