Standout New Superyachts Attending FLIBS 2019

Madsummer

Although Madsummer tops the FLIBS fleet in terms of size, it’s no echoing mausoleum. The cheerful decor in primary hues makes one feel right at home – a great trait for a charter yacht. Her size does show in the 12m swimming pool, a spa that opens to the sea, an Air Nautique tender and much more.

Ocean Alexander 84R

The “Revolution” continues at Ocean Alexander with the second model in the series being unveiled in Fort Lauderdale. It’s a thoroughly modern mutiny, too, with an open-plan main deck amid huge windows and a plumb bow. A piercer bulb enhances performance.

Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric

Who says a yacht’s port and starboard sides need to be mirror images of each other? Throwing this design tenet out of the window reclaims about 10m² of interior space. A starboard side deck runs from bow to stern, but to port the design is wide-body.

  • LOA: 30.61 metres
  • Exterior and interior design: Marlow Yachts

Capable of extreme cruising, this Marlow Voyager 100 is as overbuilt as they come. It includes Kevlar and carbon-fibre construction, custom climate control, waste heat recovery, continuous duty-rated Baudouin engines and all components specced to the highest standards.

Princess Y85

Horizon FD77 Skyline

Builder: Horizon

LOA: 24.54 metres

Exterior design: Cor D Rover

Interior design: Horizon

The way to look at this yacht is from the inside out. The beamy yet efficient hull holds an immense interior for its LOA – made even more voluminous in this Skyline model by the enclosed bridge. Designer Cor D Rover jokingly calls it the smallest 43-metre they’ve done.

Extra 86 Fast

  • Builder: ISA
  • LOA: 26.2 metres
  • Exterior and interior design: Guida Design

Based on the concept of extra volume, the Extra 86 offers exceptional liveability inside and a tri-level cockpit outside that forms a beach club of more than 50m². The “Fast” version exceeds 30 knots with Volvo IPS 1350s.

Baba

  • Builder: Hargrave Custom Yachts
  • LOA: 56.7 metres
  • Exterior and interior design: Hargrave Custom Yachts; owner

At long last, Hargrave has a new flagship, usurping the title held by the 1991 Katamarino (now Paris) by 50cm. Built to Lloyd’s class, the steel and aluminium yacht has a beach club, six guest suites – including a 10.4m-wide master – and Tier 4 Caterpillar 3512s capable of 18 knots.

Ferretti 720

  • Builder: Ferretti Yachts
  • LOA: 22.3 metres
  • Exterior design: Filippo Salvetti; Ferretti Group
  • Interior design: Ferretti Group

With villa-like comforts inherent in all Ferretti yachts, the 720 has an open and bright interior and plenty of sunning and entertaining space outdoors, all realised with an effortless elegance. The first hull sports 1,400hp V12 MANs for a 28-knot cruise.

Majesty 140

  • Builder: Gulf Craft
  • LOA: 43.1 metres
  • Exterior and interior design: Gulf Craft

This new Majesty keeps guests close to the sea with a fixed terrace in the main-deck master, balconies that widen the main deck aft on both sides and, of course, a beach club. Following the adage “happy crew, happy owner”, crew comfort was also a major consideration.
