New York architecture firm Gill Schmid Design has unveiled its latest 73-metre superyacht concept named Escapade, to be built by Dörries Yachts in Germany.

Escapade centres around an enhanced connection with the natural environment, so that her owner can fully embrace their time living on the water. This is represented most clearly by the yacht's duplex open-air beach club, featuring a glass-bottom pool on the main deck and a reflecting pool below, connected through a grand outdoor staircase. Flanked by sand beaches, the staircase leads directly onto the swim platform, allowing for a seamless transition in and out of the water.

The main deck also features a generous indoor and outdoor lounge area with large skylights on either side of the pool, designed to shine natural light on the beach club below.

The nature theme persists with Escapade’s infinity pool, which is found on the foredeck alongside lounge areas and a firepit with a sunken seating area. With glass walls, al fresco spaces, fully retractable glazing and reflective steel surfaces, the design team seeks to invite the outdoors into the interiors while encouraging those onboard to venture out.

With a beam of 12.5 metres, Escapade is able to comfortably sleep up to 12 guests and 16 crew. Four of the six guest suites have direct access to the beach club, whereas the other two guest suites and the owner’s suite are situated on the main deck with access to the pool lounge and deck area.

The sun deck houses Escapade’s wellness centre, comprising a large guest gym, sauna, steam room, massage, hairdresser and beauty bar, as well as outdoor loungers. Another highlight is the yacht’s stowing capacity, able to hold a nine-metre limousine tender, a nine-metre rib, and four jet skis onboard.

Gill Schmid Design is best known for its 65-metre, silent cruising concept SEE and its unique mothership and support vessel concept Twins, both released in 2021.
