First 35m Pershing GTX116 Caffeine spotted in Monaco

The first Pershing GTX116, named Caffeine, made her on-the-water debut at the Monaco Grand Prix last week following her launch in February.

The 35.2-metre is the new flagship of Pershing's GTX line and was commissioned by a US-based owner who said he had spent "years" looking for the perfect yacht for cruising in Miami. She was named caffeine "in honour of the ingredient that made [the owner's] fortune".

The sale of Caffeine was closed by Sean Fenniman at Allied Marine and work on the second hull is already underway

Conceived by Pershing, a Ferretti Group brand, the GTX116 is the result of a collaboration between the Ferretti Group Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari, the design firm headed by Fulvio De Simoni, and the Ferretti Group’s engineering department. The model was first presented at the Miami International Boat Show in 2022 and its design aims to combine the functionality of a Sports Utility Yacht with signature Pershing performance.

The GTX116 model is characterised by a streamlined profile that reflects the yacht’s sporty capacities and borrows design cues from the Gran Turismo automotive imagery. With 150 square metres of fully-interconnected outdoor areas, the GTX116 demonstrates an increased focus on al fresco living.

Caffeine features a forward Jacuzzi

A 39-square-metre beach club is attached to an electro-hydraulic taffrail that opens up to connect the beach area with the swim platform, creating a waterfront lounge area. A garage ensures the water can be enjoyed to its full capacity, with space for a tender measuring more than five metres, plus a Jetski and water toys.

The forward living area can be accessed via the portside walkways or through the bridge, where there is an option to install a Jacuzzi. The GTX116 is crowned by a 40-square-metre sundeck, with a helm station, generous seating area and protection from the elements thanks to a carbon hard top.

Meanwhile, the interior of Caffeine offers a five-cabin layout and large windows that flood the social spaces with natural light. The alternative configuration on other GTX116 models comprises four cabins, with the benefit of an additional living area.

The design themes revolve around refined tones, mirrored surfaces and classic "Made in Italy" materials, including leather by Poltrona Frau.

A silver hull and a blue deckhouse characterises the exterior

The crew quarters in the forward section of the lower deck house a galley, a dinette, a laundry, two double cabins for four crew members and a captain’s cabin, all three with their own bathroom.

The Pershing GTX116 is equipped with a triple waterjet propulsion system, paired with three MAN V12 2,000hp engines for a top speed of 35.5 knots and a cruising speed estimated at 29.5 knots.

The sale of Caffeine was closed by Sean Fenniman at Allied Marine and work on the second hull is already underway. Ferretti Group has a number of other exciting projects currently in the works such as the new InFYnito 90, which was brought to market in August 2022 with three units already sold.
