New 55m Heesen motor yacht Frida sold ahead of anticipated sea trials

Dutch shipyard Heesen has announced the sale of the 55-metre new build Frida ahead of intensive sea trials in the North Sea. The yacht, intended for private use, was acquired by a client drawn to the shipyard's pedigree and sold with POA.

Market interest for this particular Heesen model is high because of the immediate availability and Northern European construction standards.

She was reported to be in her final outfitting stages in October 2025, and Heesen's interior engineering department is currently collaborating with Luca Dini Design & Architecture in order to tailor the vessel's interior design to her new owner's lifestyle and taste.

"The interior of Frida reflects a modern interpretation of traditional maritime heritage," notes Silvia Margutti, lead architect of the studio. "The design uses dark woods in strong contrast with light tones, adding a contemporary twist."

Her impressive steel naval architecture comes from Van Oossanen Naval Architects, while her design comes from Omega Architects, and the yacht combines floor-to-ceiling windows for bright and airy interiors. With a gross tonnage of 760GT, Frida accommodates 12 guests across six cabins.

A spokesperson at Heesen notes that the yacht was selected by her new owner for her "generous internal volume and compact size."

Jeroen van der Meer, Heesen CEO, adds "Frida represents a successful combination of Dutch engineering and a sophisticated aesthetic."

Delivery of the vessel is expected to take place shortly after her sea trials, in time for the summer cruising season.
