Horizon launches ninth hull in FD100 Tri-Deck series

19 October 2023 • Written by Dea Jusufi

Horizon Yachts has launched the ninth hull in its Cor D. Rover-designed FD100 Tri-Deck series. This marks the fourth Horizon commissioned by the "experienced owner", who purchased the yacht as an inventory boat during the build process.

The new hull features the traditional FD100 layout but with "many notable amenities and upgrades", according to the Taiwanese shipyard. In particular, the new FD100 follows the theme of "flexible use".

Accommodation includes a full-beam master cabin with his and hers bathrooms, four en suite lower deck cabins and private quarters for three crew members. Interiors are light and airy, with the guest stairwell's hand-painted, herringbone marble feature wall worthy of note.

The main saloon is outfitted in light European oak with stone facades, highlighted by custom lighting. Special attention was paid to the lighting design throughout, including in the formal dining room where a concentric circle set in a polished gold overhead has been installed.

In a first for the FD series, this FD100 has a Jacuzzi tub installed on the uppermost trideck space. The area is also arranged with a wet bar, plentiful sunpads and a Hi/Lo LED rotating television. The bridge deck features an asymmetrical enclosed skylounge design that doubles as a second saloon area with a wet bar, television and refrigerator.

The main deck is fitted with a U-shaped seating area, an adjustable rising table, freestanding lounge chairs and ottomans. A full bar with a refrigerator and an ice maker is situated to starboard while a fold-down television and storage area to port round out the space.

The beach club features a bar space with a refrigerator and freezer opposite an L-shaped built-in settee.

Powered by twin 1,900hp CAT C32A engines, the ninth hull is anticipated to have a top speed of 20.3 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots.

The FD100 Tri-Deck will be on display at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
