ISA Yachts has launched its first 43 metre Granturismo superyacht, christened Philmi, at its facility in Ancona, Italy.

The new ISA 43 Granturismo was ordered for a repeat client in 2012. This is the first launch in the Granturismo range, which was debuted to the public at the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show. The larger Granturismo 66m was the first to be ordered and is underway and on schedule to launch in a matter of weeks. The steel-and-aluminium, displacement hull Granturismo yachts are designed with a balance between external and internal living areas, benefitting from the yachts' ample exterior layouts.

Designed by Andrea Vallicelli, the 43m two-deck superyacht Philmi has strong, sporty lines and a plumb bow, making the most of her length. She was built for a hands-on owner, who ISA reports were involved in every aspect of the yacht from decor to technical appointments. A hallmark of the Granturismo series, Philmi offers generous outdoor areas for a yacht her size. The flybridge has a custom bar made to mimic a column of ice that changes from transparent in the day to colourful in the evening. The Jacuzzi is surrounded by circular sunpads, both of which can be shaded by canopies. At stern, the beach club hosts a gym that opens onto a large swim platform, and the tender garage is found athwartships.

This is the second yacht that interior designer Sandrine Melot has designed for this owner. The interior palette is varied with warm colours as dominant. A bar is also a focal feature inside, with a center piece designed by Melot made by Swarovski. The use of light was a major focus for Philmi's interior. The white and light grey appointments are enhanced by natural light that flood through the large skylights in the main saloon and owner's cabin. Foglizzo leather covers the walls, ceilings and even the floors in the owner's stateroom. Philmi accommodates 10 guests in four guest cabins plus the master.

Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she can reach a maximum speed of 17 knots and cruise at 15 and has a range 2,800 nautical miles at cruise. Sea trials on Philmi will begin next week, and delivery to her owner is scheduled for June 2014.

Meanwhile, ISA Yachts stays busy with new launches underway and soon to debut – it will welcome its first hybrid superyacht the ISA 140 Sport in less than a month, and ISA's first fully custom superyacht Forever One should make an appearance this summer.
