UK design studio LP Design UK has revealed its latest superyacht concept; a 75 metre explorer-style yacht inspired by “classic ocean-going liners.”

Galaxias preserves this “timeless” past while offering “a modern aesthetic and state-of-the-art onboard experience,” designer Richard Liebowitz explained.

Standout design features include a two-storey interior atrium, pool deck, private boarding from the owner’s suite and a library doubling as an observation lounge.

Galaxias will include a two-storey interior atrium

The yacht has a “charter-friendly guest arrangement,” according to Liebowitz and boasts two 10 metre tenders which, he said, were a focal point of the entire design.

“Aside from a good bed and creative chef, the most important tool aboard for any vacation is a capable, big tender,” he said.

The concept is based on classic ocean-going liners

“In this design, we put these gorgeous craft on show, blatantly for display, right on the aft deck, where it’s most safe and practical to launch, with traditional, albeit automated davits. No tricks, no nonsense. Where’s the ‘infinity pool’ to greet you? Away from the public quayside, where it should be.”

Key specifications include a 14.25 metre beam, 3.6 metre draught and displacement of 1750 tonnes.

Twin 16-cylinder diesel engines give Galaxias a top speed of 18 knots and range of 7000 nautical miles at 15 knots.

LP Design previously presented its 72 metre concept Ocean Atrium in 2013.
