Lürssen has officially announced the delivery of its 78.2-metre superyacht Odisea, previously known as project Ace 21. According to BOATPro, she has now departed the yard's Bremen sheds and is en route to London, UK.
The new build, which remained highly secretive throughout her construction, began construction in March 2022 and was seen for the first time in May last year, when she was technically launched. She was later spotted in August en route to sea trials.
Lürssen has now unveiled new details about the superyacht, with British studio RWD named as both her exterior and interior designer, marking the designer's first complete collaboration with the German shipyard.
“The collaboration between RWD and Lürssen has been driven by mutual respect, the client's vision and a shared ambition for excellence,” said a spokesperson from RWD. “The result is a yacht that speaks to quiet confidence, considered design and truly elegant liveability.”
Odisea is characterised by a vertical bow and sharp, elongated lines that "balance clarity with sophistication", according to the yard. Her profile is also host to expansive glazing, which is said to deliver interiors filled with natural light as well as extensive open views across the horizon.
Inside, RWD has selected natural tones, organic textures, soft woods and pale marbles for the yacht's interiors, with curated artworks and layered finishes incorporated to offer "depth and vibrancy". Odisea is stated as being a direct expression of RWD's philosophy of "considered, family-oriented" living.
One of the standout features onboard is the "Beach House": a glass-encased lounge on the main deck that opens on three sides via three-metre sliding doors. The interior space opens out to the al fresco deck, which itself is host to a teak-lined pool.
Other amenities include a foredeck sports court for basketball, pickleball, yoga or pilates and a sundeck – which can transform from an open-air retreat to an enclosed skylounge – complete with Jacuzzi, bar, fire pit and dining for up to 20 guests. Dual outdoor cinemas, a wellness retreat and a dedicated water sports area with diving and fishing facilities complete the owner's brief.
"Every yacht we build asks something new of us," added Peter Lürssen. "Working with RWD on Odisea allowed us to push new boundaries in both engineering and arrangement. The result is a yacht designed entirely around modern life at sea. She is a proud addition to our fleet."
The owner’s representative, Dan Robsham of Mariner Technical Services, concluded: “It was a pleasure to work with the Lürssen and RWD Teams during the design and build of this amazing yacht.”
Odisea features a compact exhaust with a patented SCR system to significantly reduce NOx emissions. Other confirmed details include a volume of 2,397GT and a steel and aluminium build.
Odisea was one of six new-build projects currently under construction at Lürssen, including another RWD-designed superyacht, hull 13785, which was launched in February.
Following Odisea's delivery, anticipation now builds to the yard's other recently launched superyachts, including Boardwalk, Nausicaä and O3.
