Mangusta unveils new 38m addition to GranSport line at Miami International Boat Show

13 February 2026 • Written by Emily Dawkins

Italian shipyard Mangusta, a brand of Overmarine Group, has unveiled the first details of a new 38-metre addition to its GranSport motor yacht line. The GranSport 38 was presented to the industry for the first time at the 2026 Miami International Boat Show, which is currently underway in Florida.

The new 38-metre model now marks the fourth offering from the shipyard's existing GranSport line, which comprises the GranSport 34, the GranSport 45 and the GranSport 54 models. According to Mangusta, the GranSport 38 stands as an evolution of its offerings, taking "sportiness to the next level" and blending performance with generous volumes, versatility and a "structural elegance".

The new design – which will be constructed entirely in composite – is said to introduce a new architecture of space, building upon the brand's DNA while targeting owners who are "dynamic, contemporary [and] international" seeking top performances, long range and efficiency without compromising on comfort.

Core to the new model are the interiors penned by Alberto Mancini, of which the shipyard describe to be "larger-than-average". This increase in volume is mostly thanks to a dual asymmetry approach, whereby there is only one side walkway on both the main and upper decks. Thanks to the removal of the side walkway, the main deck saloon is expanded to starboard, allowing for views that directly face the horizon from an intimate, "cocooned" lounge area.

Also integral to the GranSport 38's design approach is the principle of a seamless living experience - combining free-flowing spaces, minimal structures and extensive glazing for uninterrupted views out, combined with bright and airy living spaces.

The dual asymmetry design approach is also seen on the upper deck, where the layout is mirrored from the main deck for more usable space and seamless indoor-outdoor living. Here, the spacious upper saloon opens out to a generous al-fresco dining area, while forward Mangusta's signature infinity pool takes pride of place. Glass "uprights" also add to the sporty finish of the design while removing any further boundaries with the environment.

Up top, the sundeck, or "private lookout" as the yard describes it, presents an intimate viewing area, while completing the layout is a two-level beach club to the stern. Two opening side wings and an aft "transformer" expand this area over the water for lounging, or guests can enjoy a full-beam cockpit with a bar and two large C-shaped sofas just steps above.

Generous integrated storage compartments are found at the beach club, though a garage opens on one side for two jet skis and a 5.5-metre tender

Accommodation is for 12 guests in five cabins, including a full-beam master suite located on the main deck, which extends over the sea, plus a crew of seven in four cabins. Though the model has been presented with Mancini design, the shipyard emphasised that it remains highly customisable to the owner's needs, habits and lifestyle, from the layout configuration to the selection of materials.

The GranSport 38 will be fitted with the new Volvo Penta IPS Professional platform – consisting of four Volvo Penta D13 1,000hp engines coupled with two propulsion pods. This new system allows for a more compact engine room and, therefore, increased living space, while also powering the yacht to a maximum speed of 20 knots with an 18-knot cruising speed and range of up to 600 nautical miles.

According to BOATPro, Mangusta has 25 yachts currently in build or on order, including the first unit from its new flagship steel and aluminium Oceano 52 line.
