Italian shipyard Mangusta Yachts, a brand of Overmarine Group, has announced the sale of the first unit in its Oceano 52 line. Measuring 52 metres, the motor yacht will now become the new flagship in the yard's steel and aluminium displacement range, in what is a "natural, while also bold, evolution" of smaller models such as the Oceano 39 and the Oceano 44.
The first unit from the series initially began on-spec construction earlier this year, now purchased by an experienced South American owner and scheduled for delivery in Spring 2027. Overmarine Group’s Engineering Department and Monaco-based designer Alberto Mancini are responsible for the design, which is said to introduce a new layout concept on vessels below 500GT.

The yard also noted that it was the forward upper deck master that attracted her new owner the most, thanks to its floor-to-ceiling glazed surfaces offering a 180-degree panoramic view and private terrace hosting an infinity pool.
A main deck lounge-patio, which will be set up as a fitness area on this unit, is a notable highlight onboard, as well as the the owner's choice of layout. One of 12 possible options offered by the yard, the first unit will be equipped with two VIP cabins on the main deck – one of which will be fitted as an office – and four guest cabins on the lower deck, accommodating up to 12 guests.
According to the yard, the Mangusta Oceano 52 is designed to be a flexible platform, with each unit able to be significantly customised to thus be considered a "true one-off model".
"The Mangusta Oceano 52 marks a momentous step in the expansion of our range," said the president of Mangusta Americas, Stefano Arlunno, who was closely involved in the early stages of the project. "Its innovative design and functional solutions redefine onboard living and will make this new model a benchmark in the below-500 GT segment."
The sale of the first unit was completed in collaboration with Jorge Saca of Maspor Marine International.
According to BOATPro, Overmarine Group currently has 19 yachts on order or under construction, the largest of which is the 54-metre Mangusta Gransport 54, which is scheduled for delivery in 2026. The yard celebrated the launch of its fifth Oceano 50 earlier this year in June.
