Moran signs contract for new build superyacht Project Thor at Lurssen

14 March 2014 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

Moran Yacht & Ship has signed a contract to build a new 74m superyacht currently named Project Thor with completion scheduled for 2016.

The yacht is to be built at German superyacht yard Lurssen with British superyacht designer Andrew Winch contracted to design both the exterior and interior. A completely custom build, this full displacement motor yacht will have a beam of 13.2 metres, giving her a larger interior volume than any comparable 74m yacht afloat today.

Details are confidential at present, but Project Thor will accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms. The Moran Yacht & Ship new construction team will work with the owner and yard to manage the build process from concept to completion.
