The Ferretti Group has celebrated the technical launch of its second Custom Line Navetta 28.
The Italian yacht builder’s new Custom Line Navetta 28 luxury yacht series debuted at the Cannes boat show September 2014, with follow-up appearances in Monaco and Genoa.
Hull No 2, the latest in the semi-displacement model, stands apart from her predecessor as she sports a warm, metal-grey hull colour, named “terra di capri”, custom designed for her Northern European owner. This bespoke shade blends seamlessly with the white superstructure and ample glazing.
The Custom Line Navetta 28 yacht is a little sister to the builder’s Navetta 33, of which more than a dozen have been launched. The Navetta 28 carries on the family heritage of the Navetta 33, which are designed for long-range operation.
Interior styling of the latest Navetta 28 comes from Dutch designer comes from Eric Kuster, who collaborated with Ferretti’s in-house Centro Stile Ferretti Group and Studio Zuccon International Project to create a motif described as a “floating villa”. Materials used in the décor include lacquered surfaces, fine leathers, silver and gold mosaics, marble and alabaster details and ebony wood. Eric Kuster also penned some of the furnishings, which coexist with pieces sourced from Italy.
The layout of the new Custom Line Navetta 28 has also been customised to the owner’s brief. The bar area has been moved up from the main deck into the upper deck lounge and placed amidships, and the sun deck is now a space reserved especially for the owner’s use, with a Jacuzzi aft instead of forward.
Sea trials, assessments by RINA and verification of on board systems will take place over the next few weeks, after which time the new yacht will be delivered to her owner who plans to cruise her in the South of France this summer.
Custom Line recently unveiled its new Navetta 37 flagship superyacht, which is scheduled to launch in 2016.
