16 August 2022 • Written by Katia Damborsky

Dutch yard Oceanco has sent its 109 metre superyacht Y720 out on sea trials in the North Sea.

It comes after the superyacht was rolled out of the shed and launched in Alblasserdam in March 2022.

Designed inside and out by Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design, Y720 features extensive glass with the three deckhouses on the main, bridge and upper decks all surrounded by large glass windows. Elsewhere, the exterior design is defined by “classical proportions”.

According to the yard, the owner has played an integral role in the design of the yacht. Molly Isaksen Interiors is acting as the owner's design consultant, while the owner is represented by Wright Maritime Group.

Lateral Naval Architects is responsible for the naval architecture and propulsion system. Designed with an eco focus in mind, Y720 sports technologically advanced environmental systems that reportedly exceed current regulations.

The yacht is the first Oceanco to be built at the builder's new Zwijndrecht facilities. Acquired by Oceanco in May 2019, the 28-acre site includes offices and conference rooms, alongside construction, outfitting, paint and sandblasting facilities. The new location is intended to increase the yard's eco-conscious efforts as well as help develop maintenance and refit works.
