Oceanco acquires new 28-acre site in the Netherlands

Dutch yard Oceanco is set to expand after acquiring an additional 28-acre site in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands.

It revealed that two 100 metre superyacht projects will enter the new facility by the end of the year.

Key to the yard’s overarching strategic ambitions, the acquisition of the new facility is intended to increase company efficiency as well as improving communication.

It will see the yard consolidate its construction activities at the new site, which includes offices, conference rooms, as well as construction, painting and outfitting facilities.

These outfitting facilities will allow Oceanco to develop maintenance and refit works.

Measuring 38 metres high, 132 metres long and 50 metres wide, the new facility will enable the yard to “handle the widest spectrum of refit work for all types of superyachts from around the world,” it said.

Alongside the new site, Oceanco is planning to open an educational campus to facilitate technical training across a number of different disciplines.

The yard added: “The acquisition fits into Oceanco’s greater forward-thinking strategy, to create an infrastructure where numerous companies servicing the superyacht industry can come together.”
