Pershing, a brand of Ferretti Group, has unveiled a new addition to its GTX Sport Utility Yachts range with a new 28-metre model called GTX90.
The model, which made its debut at boot Düsseldorf in January, brings together Italian studio Vallicelli Design and the Group’s Engineering Department, who have collaborated to create a yacht that champions interior and exterior volumes, while ensuring high levels of performance.
The GTX90 will be constructed at the Ferretti Group Plug and Mould facility. According to BOATPro, the first unit is already under construction, with delivery scheduled for this autumn.
Following in the footsteps of the Italian yard's existing GTX models, the new design revolves around the concept of space, with an interior layout designed to maximise comfort on board. The exterior, painted in the Pershing Anniversary Silver colour, features the GTX series' signature design features, including a near vertical bow and a continuous, slightly convex sheer-line, resulting in a light yet sporty profile.
Another similarity with the existing yachts in the line can be found at the stern, where there are two opening side terraces. Unlike previous models, however, the opening terraces put the widest point of the beam in the cockpit area, allowing for 37 square metres of living space close to the water. Nearby, a handy garage houses a tender and a jet ski.
The sportsbridge, which has a surface area of 33 square metres, is 43 per cent more spacious than the average for boats of this size, according to the yard. Here, guests can enjoy distinct areas, from sunbathing at the stern to enjoying sheltered al fresco dining amidships. The central helm station is located forward.
Entrance to the main living area is through a wide five-panel door on the main deck, offering a continuous indoor-outdoor space when open. The main saloon is fitted with a show kitchen to one side, complemented by a "strikingly elegant" bar counter, while a formal dining table opposite seats up to eight guests. An optional dayhead can also be installed here if required.
Moving forward, the lounge is fitted with a large L-shaped sofa (though two separate couches can be fitted instead), with the forward helm station offering three comfortable pilot seats for further seating when underway. Accommodation is across four en-suite cabins on the lower deck, which includes a full-beam master amidships, a VIP in the bow and two guest cabins (one double and one twin).
Designed for fast cruising, the GTX90 is fitted with twin 2,200hp MAN V12 2200 engines and twin Castoldi TurboDrive 600 HCT waterjets, which are set to deliver a combined top speed of 35 knots. Cruising is expected at 30 knots, with the option to install a pair of Seakeeper NG18 gyroscopic stabilisers for additional comfort.
BOATPro amounts Pershing to have four yachts currently on order or under construction. The yard recently celebrated the launch of the fifth unit from its 43-metre 140 superyacht series.
