The first yacht from fledgling builder Procat Yachts has been launched, known as the Procat 85. The first in a new range of seaworthy and "eco-friendly" vessels, the 26-metre model has an impressive volume of 325GT – a ratio that the Turkish yard calls a "world-first" in the catamaran class.
Following successful sea trials, the Procat 85 will be delivered to her owner and will soon set sail for the Mediterranean to enjoy her first summer season.
Her futuristic exterior and naval architecture – including an aluminium hull for "exceptional seakeeping" – is owed to Turkish studio Nar Design. Tufan & Brothers was selected as project manager for the build.
Naturally, the bulk of living space is contained within the interiors – including accommodation for 12 guests and seven crew – with the design undisclosed but completed in-house. The yard has promised over 300 square metres of exterior living space too, with imagery revealing a foredeck sunpad area, a shaded lounge on the upper deck and twin staircases leading to the swim platform.
"This launch is the culmination of three years of passion and dedication," said Procat Yachts CEO Hakan Goyenc. "The Procat 85 is not just our first yacht; it's the flagship of our new Procat series and a true testament to our vision for the future of luxury catamarans."
"We sincerely thank the yacht owner for making this unique vision possible, and everyone involved in design, engineering, and production for their hard work and dedication," added Nar Design partner, Mahir Cakmak.
The Procat 85 can reach a maximum speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. Other key specs include an 11.5-metre beam and a draft of 1.8 metres.
