Outfitting begins: Project Witchcraft arrives at Damen Yachting

19 July 2021 • Written by Miranda Blazeby

Project Witchcraft, the second hull in the Amels 60 superyacht series, has begun an “intense” outfitting period ahead of delivery in autumn 2022.

The yacht arrived at Damen Yachting’s main shipyard in Vlissingen in the Netherlands a year after the sale of the superyacht was announced. The owner, who is represented with Moran Yacht & Ship, has worked closely with the yard to customise the yacht to their personal tastes. This has included the appointment of an interior designer and changes to the exterior design.

The asking price of Project Witchcraft has been withheld

Sean Moran, managing director of Moran Yacht and Ship, described the beginning of the outfitting period as an “important milestone”.

“We have had the pleasure of working with the Amels yard and their skilled craftsmen on several projects now, and we look forward to her successful delivery in autumn of 2022.”

Damen Yachting’s commercial executive USA, Jan van Hogerwou, added: “The entire team is very excited to enter this next phase which will see hundreds of craftsmen and women together with our co-makers really start to transform this Amels 60 into the client’s inspirational vision.”

First introduced in 2019, the Limited Editions Amels 60 superyacht is designed by Espen Øino and features a hybrid propulsion package. A large open sun deck, nine-metre tender and 830GT interior are among the yacht’s standout features.

Designer Øino described it as “an extremely well-optimised design," adding, "together with the Amels team, we invested a lot of time fine-tuning, really looking back at the Limited Editions past, talking to clients. We were very aligned with Amels and I think that shows in the result. She looks beautiful.”
