Revealed: Vripack and RMK Marine's 36.5m "pocket-sized explorer" Seven Seas

Vripack and RMK Marine have revealed the first RMK 120, a 36.5m pocket-sized explorer “reimagined on a grand scale” named Seven Seas

Designed for an “experienced” client with “world cruising in mind”, the expedition yacht line pairs a trawler styled exterior with a “family-focused” interior.

The steel hulled yacht is likened to a “Jaguar SUV” by Vripack co-creative director Bart M Bouwhuis.

“It gives a quiet, harmonious looking profile that will be everlasting, without compromising on the internal layout,” he said.

Now a fully-fledged explorer line, the RMK 120 was first created for owners who wanted to upgrade their current yacht.

“The owners wanted their next boat to be big, but not so big that it couldn’t access beautiful ports and bays. They were keen to design a pocket explorer," Bouwhuis added. "For them, that meant everything that you typically have in a 50m 500 GT boat, including proper tender carrying capacity when cruising in different regions.”

Key features include a 55 square metre dedicated tender deck with the capacity to carry two 7.5m tenders and a lazarette, which provides further storage for water toys and RIBs.

Elsewhere, the yacht features a private top deck, complete with a Jacuzzi, bar and seating area for far-reaching ocean views. The main deck aft is fitted with al fresco dining and high windows for plentiful natural light.

RMK Marine chief executive Adnan Nefesoğlu added: “The explorers we build with the Vripack design have great stories to tell and have given rise to a cluster of happy and satisfied customers. Now, with this new order, we have the opportunity to recreate this line of vessels for RMK Marine.”
