Sanlorenzo has debuted a new model, the SL86, into its GRP planing range of luxury motor yachts, and has already sold five hulls.
The Italian yard debuted the boat at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, which runs until 25 January, introducing a new feature that will be found on all of Sanlorenzo’s planing range, a foredeck area that is a living space, with sofas, table, sunbathing cushions and a foldable sun hood.
Inside, Sanlorenzo has created more space in the saloon, which is 2.5 metres longer than on the SL82, the model's predecessor. It is also wider and with a reduced sheerline amidships, the builder has allowed room for bigger saloon windows, so the living space on the main deck has plenty of natural light. This extends to the staircase to the flybridge, where the steps are bolstered by two plate glass sheets, creating a visual effect as well as a practical one. Once up on the flybridge, guests can utilize the shade beneath the hardtop, or the nine square metres of sunbathing space, or the squared whirlpool.
The SL86 offers two different layouts, one with the galley on the main deck, the other with it on the lower deck, bordering with the crew quarters and freeing up a lot of space on the main deck. In this layout, the VIP guest cabin is forward and is full beam.
The boat is part of a refresh of the Sanlorenzo range, which has also seen the builder introduce an SL76. The boat was also debuted at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, with three hulls sold already. Sanlorenzo says features found on these two boats may well be incorporated into larger models over time. Both the SL76 and SL86 are already under construction and the first 86 is scheduled to make her debut at the Cannes Boat Show in September.
