Design studio Sturge & Toth has teased the first details of a new 95-metre superyacht concept known as Project Galaqsea.
Inspired by the "vast order and mystery of our galaxy", the concept was crafted in collaboration with Lateral Naval Architects as a "holistic architectural system", where internal layouts, external structure and guest experience become inseparable.
First teases of the design reveal layered, defined decks and a flowing geometry and continuity, accentuated by 180-degree panoramic glazing to extend the yacht's beam outwards.
One of the concept's defining features is a unique light beam system, designed to shine a vertical light column from the highest structural point during arrivals or special events.
A vertically aligned spatial core boasts a central spiral staircase and glass-shaft elevator that ascends from the lower deck to the sundeck, forming the vessel's circulatory centre.
On board, accommodation is for a 31-strong crew and up to 16 guests in a layout designed with private balconies, convertible social areas and dedicated wellness spaces. The owner's deck is private yet expansive, with an open-plan configuration chosen to enhance both scale and orientation.
Closer to the water, the beach club has been designed as a transformative zone at the water's edge; it features large, fold-down shell doors that not only maximise and extend the deck space to almost reach the midship platforms, but also offer a 180-degree view of the water.
On the technical side, a single-level engine room on the tank deck will allow for a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system with pods, expected to reach speeds of 16 knots. A large garage provides space for a 12-metre limousine tender.
“By progressing Galaqsea with Lateral, we paired our vision with naval architecture and engineering of real intellectual ambition, each discipline sharpening the other," explained Toby Sturge and Ben Julian Toth, co-founders of Sturge & Toth.
They continued: "The result is more than a single yacht; it's a platform that proves what becomes possible when great minds commit to building together, and a foundation we intend to keep developing."
The unveiling comes after the studio unveiled the interiors of its 52-metre Gladius 52 Crossover Performance Yacht concept, and its new collaboration with Turkish shipyard SES Yachts and brokerage firm Ocean Independence on a new series of gentleman’s motor yachts named EPOQ.
