Polish multi-hull specialist Sunreef Yachts has begun construction on an all-carbon fibre Sunreef 80 sailing yacht.
The “experienced yachtsman” owner commissioned the yacht after previously chartering a Sunreef 74. The 24.4 metre Sunreef 80 is scheduled for delivery in 2020.
The carbon edition of the Sunreef 80 will feature an in-house built carbon mast and boom for further weight reduction, as well as two 280HP engines.
The yacht will also feature a custom layout tailored to the owner, with accommodation for 11 guests and separate crew accommodation
The news comes after the Polish yard delivered the seventh hull in the Sunreef 80 line in July. Gija was delivered at the Gdansk based shipyard and features an 11.5 metre beam, spacious saloon, as well as an al fresco dining space, wet bar and bow terrace.
Elsewhere this summer, Sunreef announced that international tennis star Rafael Nadal had commissioned a 23.95 metre Sunreef 80 Power catamaran. The first unit is set to premiere at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival next month.
