Some impressive superyachts are scheduled to be launched in early 2012, the first of which was revealed this morning at Lürssen's Rendsburg yard when the 85 metre Project Rocky came out of the shed. There was no attempt to conceal her name, Ace, which is prominently displayed on her superstructure.
Designed by Andrew Winch Designs both inside and out, this yacht has an unusual profile with large side arches surmounted by oval side balconies. Stairs contained within the arches give access to the first three aft decks. The bridge deck is almost completely enclosed, including the aft part, and there is a further sun deck above the upper deck.
The interior, described as 'classic' by Andrew Winch Designs, is believed to accommodate 12 guests in six cabins over five decks, but as yet no further details have been disclosed.
Ace will be delivered after the usual sea trials, less than a year and a half after we reported the transfer of her completed hull and superstructure in September 2010.
