Polish yard Sunreef Yachts has taken the opportunity of the Palm Beach International Boat Show to announce that professional tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has placed an order for a new 26.8-metre catamaran from its Sunreef Ultima 88 yacht series.
The Spaniard, who is currently ranked world number one in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals, now also joins the House of Sunreef community of owners. The new build will be fully customised and marks the tennis champion's entry into the world of yachting.
"I decided to order the Ultima 88 with Sunreef because I feel they are not only experts in luxury catamarans but true trendsetters," said Alcaraz. "Building with them gives me confidence that this will be the perfect yacht to unwind and recharge. I feel that Sunreef and I share the same dynamic spirit — we are a great match."
Alcaraz's choice of new build is the 26.8-metre Ultima 88 - one of the latest additions to the yard's portfolio. According to the shipyard, the model has been designed with an active lifestyle in mind and combines "sleek architecture, modern design and exceptional performance" with a top speed of 26 knots.
A standout feature on board is found at the stern, where lies an "Ocean Lounge" with a large garage, hydraulic platform and unfolding side terraces offering an expansive waterside leisure area and direct access to jet ski and water sports equipment.
Inside, accommodation is across four guest cabins and a full-beam owner’s suite forward of the main deck, the latter of which has been designed to be abundant in natural light and include a large bathroom with a bathtub. Above, the flybridge has been drawn with space for relaxation and al fresco dining.
Alcaraz is recognised as one of the most celebrated athletes of his generation, winning multiple Grand Slams and 26 ATP Tour–level singles titles, including seven majors and eight Masters titles.

The news follows the recent announcement that international footballer Robert Lewandowski also placed an order for a new Sunreef catamaran.
