Polish yard Sunreef Yachts has announced that international footballer Robert Lewandowski has placed an order for a new 23.8-metre catamaran from its 80 Sunreef Power NEXT yacht series. The footballer, who is currently playing as FC Barcelona’s striker, now also joins the Sunreef family of ambassadors.

The new build is completely customised to the owner's requests and will provide an "unparalleled mix of space, style and innovation", according to the shipyard. As such, the catamaran will boast a generous jet ski garage and ample al fresco lounge and dining spaces, including up top on the flybridge. Closer to the water, there will be an "Ocean Lounge" - a large walk-around beach club designed for watersports and sunbathing.

Some of the model's highlights include a wide beam of 12 metres, 366 square metres of living space and silent, vibration-free cruising thanks to a Solar Skin 3.0 [the solar panel layer across the yacht's profile], lightweight battery systems and energy-saving technologies.

“Sunreef is a perfect match for me. I have been following the brand for some time, and I feel they truly stand out," said Lewandowski on his choice to build with the shipyard. "They have a strong focus on style and creativity, but they are also dynamic and have an amazing synergy with the world of sports. One of my long-term plans is to start enjoying more time on the water. I did my research, and now I can say I've found the perfect yacht to make this dream come true.”

Lewandowski has a career packed with the world’s top club trophies, multiple "global player of the year" honours, a tenure leading his national team as captain and record-breaking achievements, including scoring five goals in just nine minutes. He now joins the current list of Sunreef ambassadors, including Formula One Driver Fernando Alonso, who took delivery of his 18.3-metre Sunreef Power Eco in 2023, and former international tennis player Rafael Nadal, owner of the 24-metre Sunreef power catamaran Great White, delivered in 2020

Sunreef Yachts founder and president Francis Lapp added: “We are honoured to welcome Robert Lewandowski on board as our ambassador. His spirit, charisma and passion for excellence align perfectly with our commitment to perfection and innovation.”

According to BOATPro, Sunreef Yachts has 40 yachts over 24 metres on order or under construction. The shipyard unveiled its most ambitious design to date, a 65-metre catamaran model, at the Monaco Yacht Show last year.
