Dutch builder Oceanco has announced the launch of the 111-metre superyacht known as Y726, a landmark build that reflects a highly collaborative design and engineering effort. The yacht is now preparing to enter sea trials, with delivery anticipated later this year.
Commissioned in 2022 by an experienced, returning client, Y726 emerged from Oceanco's Alblasserdam facilities as one of the largest yachts by volume ever constructed by the shipyard, with a beam of 16 metres and a gross tonnage of 4,550GT.
The Espen Øino-designed exterior is complemented by a refined, family-focused interior from Mark Berryman, while Lateral Naval Architects developed naval architecture in partnership with Oceanco’s in-house team with the owner's long-time yachting representative, Dan Jackson of Falcon Yacht Management.
Accommodation is for up to 28 guests and 34 crew. Notable leisure features include a cinema lounge, gym and spa with sauna and steam room. Meanwhile, Y726's decks are arranged with a winter garden, covered cocktail area, outdoor cinema, private owner’s area with Jacuzzi and a multi-purpose entertainment area (also including a Jacuzzi and swimming pool). The beach club is equipped with a bar that opens directly onto the swimming platform.
“This project is the result of bold design ambition and robust engineering," said Lee Archer, programme director at Lateral. "Through close collaboration with Oceanco and the project's design partners, Y726 stands as a testament not only to engineering enabling design at the highest level, but also to the power of collaboration as a catalyst for excellence."
“This yacht exemplifies what’s possible when all of the hundreds of participants are aligned in the determined execution of a shared vision,” said A.J. Anderson, CEO of Wright Maritime Group. “We’re proud to play a part in delivering a truly special yacht to her owner.”
Edske Smit, Oceanco’s project director, added: “From the outset, Y726 has benefitted from a deeply collaborative, trusting and positive spirit. She is set to be a standout addition to the Oceanco fleet, and we’re grateful for the strong partnerships with our co-makers, design team and the owner’s team that brought this vision to life.”
