Announcing the Cyclades Cup 2026

21 November 2025 • Written by Lucy Dunn

BOAT International is thrilled to announce that it will be the media partner for the third edition of the Cyclades Cup, taking place from 10-13 June 2026 on the picturesque island of Antiparos, Greece.

The regatta is organised by the Yacht Club of Greece in collaboration with World Superyacht Awards judge and owner of 50-metre Almyra II, Ilia Rigas. Cyclades Cup is an officially sanctioned event of the SuperYacht Racing Association.

In just three years, the Cyclades Cup has established itself as a notable new entry on the superyacht racing calendar. The 2026 edition will again feature three days of custom-course racing in the Cyclades, with courses designed to suit varied yacht types while keeping competition tight and enjoyable.

The format is deliberately understated: a limited fleet, clear race management and an emphasis on fair, competitive sailing over spectacle. The approach appears to resonate – 90 per cent of the 2024 fleet returned for 2025, including boats such as Tawera, Barong D, Wally B and Almyra II, and organisers plan to cap entries at 25 yachts for 2026.

Classes include: Corinthian Spirit, relaxed, cruising trim; 90-Foot Class, competitive medium-sized superyachts and 100-Foot Racing Class, performance-driven yachts. Each day’s course will be chosen according to conditions, delivering 2 to 3.5 hours of exhilarating but safe sailing.

“The Cyclades Cup is growing, while staying true to its roots,” confirmed Ilia Rigas, founder and regatta director. “For me, first and foremost it’s a celebration of friendship, sportsmanship, and fair play. The memories we make and the connections we deepen are far more valuable than any victory.”

A considered social programme will remain a core part of the event. Long-table dinners, cocktail gatherings, cultural moments and the now-regular SUP Race accompany the Welcome Party, Owner’s Dinner, Awards Ceremony and Closing Party. The regatta also maintains a focus on its host community, supporting local initiatives and celebrating Cycladic identity.
