Spotted: The coolest yachts currently anchored off Cannes

All eyes turn to the horizon as BOAT takes a closer look at some of the coolest superyachts that are currently anchored just a tender ride away from the show...

Christina O

Builder: Canadian Vickers

Year: 1943

Catching the eye of many this week in Cannes – and even more so at night with her proud line of lights that sweep from bow to stern – is the classic icon Christina O. Widely recognised as one of the first superyachts ever to exist, she is famed for her remarkable and illustrious history, which has seen her transform from a wartime anti-submarine vessel into a luxury private yacht, host the likes of Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne and Winston Churchill, and make more than one appearance on screen, including a star role in the glossy satire Triangle of Sadness (2022). On board, Christina O can welcome up to 157 guests, with accommodation for up to 34 in 17 suites and show-stopping amenities including a main deck pool with a raising mosaic floor and a bar with whale foreskin-covered stools. Christina O is anchored just outside of Vieux Port, in attendance with her brokers, MORLEY and Fraser.

SS Delphine

Year: 1921

Another classic drawing attention in Cannes is the steam-powered superyacht, SS Delphine. The 78.6-metre is one of the last working yachts to feature an unusual quadruple steam expansion engine, with her tall yellow exhaust standing high above her slender, low profile. She was designed by Henry J. Gielow and Antoine Wille, and has a rich history spanning over a century, including a stint as a flagship in World War II. The steam yacht fell into disrepair in the early 1990s, before being acquired by a Singaporean company which planned to convert her into a mini-cruise liner. The sale fell through, and she was instead purchased by a private buyer who undertook a €45 million restoration project to bring her back to her former glory. SS Delphine is for charter with Aqua Marine.

The Langley

Year: 2009

Anchored proudly one year on from her major two-year rebuild at RMK Marine, The Langley stands out amongst the crowd in Cannes with her tall triple masts and distinct "latte" hull colour. She was transformed from the hull up, with the extensive list of works including the lengthening of her hull, the renewal of all interior and deck spaces and the addition of a brand new beach club with a submersible aft swim platform. The schooner was designed by an all-Turkish team, with Yavuz Mete responsible for her exterior lines and Karatas Yacht Design for her interiors. Already a popular charter vessel, The Langley was listed for sale late last year with TWW Yachts. 

Vantanera 

Builder: Wally
Length: 30.6m
Year: 2003

The slender, all-black Wally performance racer Vantanera is among the standout sailing yachts currently anchored in the sheltered bay of Cannes. She was delivered in 2003 as one of four 94 yachts from the Italian yard, constructed in carbon fibre with a "generous" sail plan to a design by Germàn Frers, Luca Bassani and the shipyard - though her interiors are fresh from a 2025 refit. The sailing yacht has a proven regatta history on the international circuit, including the St Barths Bucket, Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta and a more recent debut at the 2026 Cyclades Cup. She is available to charter with Kora Yachts for both private cruising or a calendar of world-class racing events - just one of the reasons why she was recently chosen as BOAT International's charter yacht of the week.
