BOAT International held its exclusive Captains’ Club event on 27 October during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2023. Supported by annual partner Starboard Card and event partner Belize Tourism Board, the event offered a unique opportunity to network and share experiences amongst like-minded yachting professionals.

The venue

The Captains’ Club event was held at the renowned Wreck Bar, located within the B Ocean Resort. Nestled on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, the Wreck Bar provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of camaraderie and celebration following a long day at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Its nautical-themed decor offered an ideal setting for the occasion.

Holly Overton

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of Holly Overton as the new editor of Dockwalk. With a passion for sailing and having played a key role in BOAT International’s digital editorial team over the past five years, Overton brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge of the yachting industry, making her an excellent addition to the Dockwalk team.

The food and drink

To kick off the evening, guests were treated to welcome rum cocktails, and an array of finger foods was served throughout the event.
