Each week BOAT selects one of the world's finest superyachts for charter. This week, we take a closer look at Quasar, the 46.8-metre Bilgin yacht that was delivered in 2016 and refitted in 2024. The yacht has a striking exterior designed by British studio H2 Yacht Design.
Why charter Quasar
With a striking, contemporary exterior profile created by British studio H2 Yacht Design. Quasar has elegant lines that flow across all three decks and draw the eye to her plumb bow. Three large windows then define her strong high bow, while combining gentle curves with more angular design cues. The original brief from the commissioning owner was to create a clean, timeless yacht, and 10 years later, she still shines in the charter market.

Her expansive sun deck is versatile, with a glass-fronted spa pool, sun loungers, sofas, a dining table and a bar. Guests are welcomed onto the main aft deck and into a covered outdoor lounge that’s closely connected to the saloon. Here they can sip a welcome drink to settle into the charter.
Interior mood
A strong focus of the yacht for charter was on entertaining, which took centre stage and influenced every part of the design, from the layout to the interiors and the high-spec A/V equipment throughout. Quasar was always planned to be cruised regularly, so careful planning was put in place for the layout. The main saloon is a little different to your standard charter yacht, and instead is more of a cosy lounge and cinema area.
Quasar has an upper saloon, with curved walls, oversized furnishings and retractable sliding glass doors - it feels more like an open-plan living room in a home that spills out onto a terrace than your typical upper deck second lounge. There is an L-shaped sofa, a bar, a games table, and table seating for 12 with a Lazy Susan in the middle.
The main deck owner’s office also has a special curved TV that fits perfectly against the concave wall, while the desk is by the window, faced by a comfortable sofa.
Accommodation on board is for 12 guests across six cabins. On board, there is an impressive dual-principal suite arrangement rarely found on a yacht of this size. The guest cabins were kept as flexible as possible, with each of the four cabins being convertible from twins to double berths.
Out on deck
It’s the outdoors where the yacht really comes into her own. With its use of loose furnishings, the sundeck is the key entertaining space, designed for partying. There is also a state-of-the-art sound system inspired by a Mediterranean nightclub, featuring large speakers. The sundeck is also versatile, with a glass-fronted spa pool, sun loungers, sofas, a dining table and a bar. Another seating and sunbathing area can be found forward of the bridge, where there is also storage space for two jet skis.
The main exterior dining area is on the aft deck, where there is a large rectangular table for the full complement of guests. There's also a large beach club with a transom door that opens to reveal the swim platform. Two tenders are also stored in the superyacht's tender garage, which has side gull-wing doors.
