26 February 2026 • Written by Georgia Boscawen

Each week, BOAT selects one of the world’s finest superyachts for charter. This week, we take a deep dive into the charter credentials of 70-metre Sherakhan, the super-adventurer that has circumnavigated the globe several times. With the capacity to carry up to 26 guests, the charter yacht presents a new all-inclusive per-cabin charter option for a 2026 expedition to Antarctica.

Why charter Sherakhan?

With space for up to 26 guests, Sherakhan is in a league of her own for large charters. Originally built in the Netherlands and extensively refitted to luxury standards, she has become one of the most versatile discovery yachts on the water. Her volume of 1,945GT allows for a spectacular range of amenities, including a soaring seven-metre atrium that forms the heart of the yacht, complete with a chandelier and a 26-seat dining table.

On deck, highlights include an 18-person glass-bottomed Jacuzzi, expansive al fresco dining, and generous lounging areas across multiple levels. Inside, her interiors combine light woods, a fresh white palette and a touch of worldliness, with curios, first editions and bespoke furnishings throughout. Accommodation spans 13 cabins.

For a special expedition to Antarctica this December, Sherakhan has partnered with adventure and expedition specialists EYOS and Story Creators for an all-inclusive charter option. With a price of €62,500 per cabin, the expedition will take place from December 13 to 20 and includes a flight from Punta Arenas to skip the infamous Drake Passage.

Interior mood

Sherakhan is an adventurer’s dream; the interiors are elegant and exciting, with an array of on-board curios collected from her travels. The yacht for charter has a crisp white palette in an array of subtle textures, offering a fresh canvas. The collection on board includes a detailed freestanding globe, one-of-a-kind olive-wood chairs, and first-edition works by famous authors dedicated to each cabin.

Sherakhan’s wow-factor includes a seven-metre-high atrium bathed in light, with the 18-person Jacuzzi above shining through and framed by a magnificent chandelier. At the bottom of the atrium (which feels more like a great hall) sits the 26-seat dining table, which extends along the main saloon. A wet bar for pre-dinner drinks is on the upper level of the atrium, reached via symmetrical glass staircases.

Accommodation on board is for 26 guests across 13 cabins that extend forward from the main saloon. Each cabin follows its own theme, based on one of the first-edition books carried on board the yacht. The master suite lies forward and has its own private terrace and central Jacuzzi. On the same deck is another king-size suite, plus an additional double cabin that can be converted to a master suite or office if required.

The cabins are set across three decks, making Sherakhan ideal for events, per-cabin charters or multi-generational family charters. There are seven double cabins, two convertible cabins and four twin cabins. Interconnecting cabins can form luxurious suites or family/children’s cabins, providing a great deal of flexibility.

Out on deck

The deck space on board Sherakhan is perfectly set up for large gatherings on board. Up on the sundeck, the central feature is the yacht’s 18-person Jacuzzi. There are also sun loungers and hammocks, as well as space for additional dining and bar, and a full BBQ setup.

Sherakhan is well-versed in hosting spectacular parties, which can continue all night long with a Pioneer professional DJ deck, a full lighting setup, one subwoofer and four large speakers.

Al fresco dining is available on the main deck aft, but there are multiple dining options on board, including up on the sundeck. Above on the upper deck aft, comfortable seating around a low table provides a perfect coffee or cocktail area. Sunlounges forward of the bridge and on the foredeck provide additional relaxation areas.

Toys and wellness

Guests who wish to maintain their fitness regimen will find all the equipment they need on board. There is a fully equipped gym, new in 2022, with machines, free weights, and yoga mats. There is also a lower deck spa area with a sauna, Jacuzzi and massage area to help guests unwind and relax.
