Why charter Sunrays?
Delivered in 2010, Sunrays has long been a favourite in the charter market with her striking teal paint job and interior design by Terence Disdale. More than 10 years after delivery, she remains instantly recognisable. Her exterior is from the boards of Johansson Design and features a striking intersection between the hull and superstructure. Described as 'opulent' by the broker, her volume of 2,867GT is filled with large open spaces and natural light.
Entertaining on board is a core focus, with a table that converts into a central dining arrangement for 22 guests, a gyroscopic pool table, a piano and a large TV for evening events. The helipad can also be set up for parties, and there is a dedicated beauty salon on board.
Out on deck, Sunrays boasts three hot tub pools as well as a large pool surrounded by sunpads on the main deck aft. She has a large sundeck with a large amount of space for sunbathing and a spa pool forward with additional lounge space.
Interior mood
On the design front, Sunrays is a remarkable achievement by Terence Disdale. While she may have undergone an extensive refit last year, the yacht's character remains, with natural textures and bold pops of colour throughout. The large windows flood the interior with natural light, while the neutral colour scheme enhances the bright feel.
Accommodation on board is for 12 guests across nine well-appointed cabins. The upper deck master suite boasts a private terrace with a Jacuzzi. It is complemented by an adjoining VIP suite with a fold-down balcony and a convertible study that can be transformed into an additional living area. The remaining cabins are accessed by a central elevator, including two double cabins, two twin cabins with additional Pullman berths, and a "beach suite" double cabin on the lower deck. This lower-deck cabin includes a sea-level balcony, offering guests panoramic views across the seascape.
On the owner’s deck, there is a newly installed bar and two tables that can convert into one central dining area for up to 22 guests. There is also a piano and a large 4k TV screen. Other entertainment spaces include a billiards room with a gyroscopic, convertible pool-come-dining table.
The bridge deck is designed for entertainment and parties, featuring a spa, a bar and a lounge that converts into a cinema, along with a DJ booth and pool. Sunrays has several Jacuzzis on board, including one on the sundeck forward.
Out on deck
Thanks to her generous length and 14-metre beam, the yacht for charter offers ample deck space. The sundeck features a brand-new gym at its centre within a semi-enclosed air-conditioned area that separates the forward spa area from the aft sun-bed lounge deck. There is also a Jacuzzi and sunpads forward, and a range of loungers aft. Each of the four exterior decks offers huge spaces for lounging or sipping cocktails in the shade or sun.
The 86-metre yacht's large helideck offers a variety of options, from a forward yoga platform to a fully equipped party setup complete with lighting and a DJ booth. While she accommodates 12, the yacht has ample space for entertaining larger groups quayside, with a table for up to 22 guests and plenty of standing bars.
Toys and wellness
Her new gym lies amidships on the sundeck and can be opened up at each end with the bifold doors. The space includes a spin bike, a Technogym exercise bike, treadmills, a Technogym Multigym and an assortment of yoga and pilates equipment. Sunrays has a long list of toys for fun on the water, too, from inflatables to towables. Sunrays also has an approved RYA water sports centre.
