Superyacht owner's decks that make a statement

16 December 2025 • Written by Gemma Harris

Owner’s suites have evolved over the years from an en suite cabin to a full-sized dedicated space spanning entire decks - often across the full beam. These private sanctuaries now host a whole plethora of features from sprawling terraces, pools, personal lounges and offices to relaxation spaces, designed for privacy, entertaining and freedom of movement. BOAT explores the owner’s decks where privacy comes first.

The owner’s deck on board 74-metre Plvs Vltra continues the yacht’s highly decorative design scheme by Winch Design, inspired by the colours of the Côte d’Azur and classical furnishings of French luxury hotels. The full-beam master suite is furnished with Tai Ping carpets, Rubelli curtains and a spectacular silk wall covering featuring a hand-painted scene of a blossom tree. The area leads out to a private foredeck, while another deck space aft of the owner’s private lounge offers a cocktail bar and al fresco dining. A limited-edition piano and a concealed cinema screen complete this intimate relaxation space. To top it off, a private office with lacquered woods, oxblood furnishings and an ebonised timber desk sets the tone for business on board this Amels superyacht.

Rio

Surprisingly, for her more compact size, Rio boasts an owner’s deck complete with direct access to a private open-air lounge and spa pool on a 120-square-metre foredeck. According to David Westwood of TWW Yachts, who has a long-standing relationship with the owner, a full owner’s deck is “quite unusual” on a 62-metre. The owner’s suite is a standout design feature on board with views out to the bow, hand-stitched blue leather furnishings, and a spectacular bathroom and dressing room offering port-side views from the marbled shower. A private lobby completes the space, decorated with a hand-painted panel depicting Amazonian animals, including toucans, butterflies and jaguars.

Lemon Tree

Lemon Tree was the first model from Sanlorenzo’s 62Steel series to hit the water, and her interiors were designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design in collaboration with Margherita Casprini for owners planning to spend as much as six months a year on board. In order to make it the ultimate “home from home”, a spacious owner’s deck was paramount. The whole of her upper deck has been dedicated to the owner’s exclusive use and spans 210 square metres. The apartment-style deck can be accessed via an elevator and offers a study, a skylounge for family movie nights, and a cabin with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views over the private terrace, complete with a swimming pool and sunbathing area.

Renaissance

Delivered by Freire in 2023, the 112-metre Renaissance features a contemporary take on the owner’s deck, as requested within the “long list of negotiables” for the owner. A forward-facing suite commands panoramic ocean views while a private saloon, office and media room create a residential feel. Occupying the aft section is a Jacuzzi and a lounging zone. In addition to the owner’s foresight, they also appreciated how charterers might want to use the yacht and included amenities throughout, such as a vast spa and gym area, entertainment spaces, a jazz bar, an outdoor pizza oven and sushi bar, and indoor and outdoor cinemas.

Designed for owners planning to stay on board for longer periods of time, Benetti's 107.6-metre Luminosity boasts an impressive owner’s deck spread over 500 square metres. The apartment-style space – which is accessed through a corridor finished in 10 different types of marble – features a master cabin with floor-to-ceiling windows for taking in views from bed, together with an enormous dressing room, a massage room and access to a private terrace that is even larger than the main aft deck. Michele Bechelli, project manager at Benetti, explains that the 2.5-metre-wide campionways of this outdoor space mean that “if you want to jog around the owner’s deck, you have a loop of more than 200 metres".

Samadhi

The 61-metre Samadhi takes wellness seriously, with its owner’s deck that is more like a private spa than a traditional suite. Her six-month refit by Luxury Projects introduced a sauna directly into the owner’s cabin - an unusual luxury - and a striking steel-grey ice bath chilled to near-freezing for a polar plunge. Thoughtfully designed to combine relaxation and invigoration, the deck balances indulgence and wellbeing. The cabin itself saw aesthetic, modern and eclectic updates, such as a watercolour-effect carpet from Oliver Treutlein and custom fish-shaped bedside lamps. In the owner’s corridor, the resin-based artwork created by an Ancona resin artisan adds to the space's various textures and bespoke touches, highlighting nature throughout.
