Charter yacht of the week: Sanlorenzo’s new 72m flagship Silver Fox

28 January 2026 • Written by Georgia Boscawen

Each week, BOAT selects one of the world’s finest yachts for charter. This week is the 72-metre Silver Fox, Sanlorenzo’s new flagship and first of the new 74Steel series. Ahead of her imminent delivery this spring, we take a look at what makes her an excellent luxury charter yacht...

Fast facts

What makes Silver Fox an exciting charter yacht?

Measuring 72 metres in length, Silver Fox saw Sanlorenzo team link up once again with Zuccon International Project and Francesco Paszkowski Design, in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. So far, we’ve just seen a glimpse of the yacht in the flesh during her launch in October 2025, but we know that she promises to be an impressive yacht for charter with a key focus on wellness.

Highlights on board include a touch-and-go helipad, formal dining on the main deck and two tender garages amidships, which house a 10-metre Pascoe limo tender and the crew tender, as well as a range of water toys. There is also a sports court with floodlights on the bow for pickleball, basketball, or football. A crew of 21, including a media team, will be on hand.

On the technical level, Silver Fox has a diesel-electric propulsion system, engineered in-house in collaboration with Siemens Energy. The propulsion setup has freed up the layout by enabling the repurposing of technical spaces into more guest areas on board, as seen in the beach club and spa.

Silver Fox also has a sustainable side and has Evogro hydroponic cabinets for 'yacht-grown' vegetables on board, too. According to Edmiston, the yacht for charter offers 50 per cent less fuel consumption compared to other yachts of a similar size, thanks to her diesel-electric system. This also ensures minimal vibration and silent cruising.

Interior mood

Edmiston has described the design on board as ‘sculptural yet organic’. The yacht is filled with texture, with lots of wood and mirrored touches spread across the spaces. The main saloon is bright and filled with natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, while pale-caulked teak flows into the space, which is strewn with carefully placed free-standing furniture.

The main deck is a central guest area, with lounge and dining areas and five spacious en-suite cabins. There is also a 300-square-metre master deck which includes a private saloon, a geometrically designed office and the master cabin. This private area connects to a private terrace forward with a hot tub; there is also a staircase and access routes ensuring total privacy.

A full-beam VIP cabin can also be found on the main deck, with sliding panels that close off the private salon from the sleeping area, creating a private retreat. A central corridor then connects each cabin directly to the main salon.

Out on deck

Like all successful charter yachts, Silver Fox has highly impressive deck space. The jewel in the crown is the sundeck, which features a bar, a forward fire pit, and a Jacuzzi, flanked by large sunpads. A transparent glass windbreak under the hardtop protects guests when the breeze picks up.

The main al fresco dining area is on the upper deck aft, where a rectangular table sits beside a bar. Here, there is also plenty of additional lounge space to watch the waves from an elevated position.

For those who want to spend their time as close to the water as possible, Silver Fox's beach club is particularly impressive. Dedicated to wellness, the space features a gym with a fold-down terrace, a massage suite, a sauna, a hammam, a cold plunge pool, a hair salon, and a family room for younger guests. When opened to the water, it transforms into a generous waterfront retreat with walk-around access.

Toys and wellness

One of Silver Fox's major features is an extensive wellness area, which makes full use of the yacht's 13.1-metre beam. Guests who wish to focus on their fitness goals will also find their sanctuary in the beach club gym. The space is bright and open and benefits from the ocean breeze cascading through the open doors.

Toys on board have been carefully selected to ensure guests of all ages have as much fun as possible on the water. Here, you can expect all the classics as well as a 10-metre Pascoe limo tender, a Pascoe beach lander RIB, and a Ski Nautique boat.
