Sea spa: High-rise treatments at Ethiad Towers' Talise spa

20 February 2019 • Written by Sophia Wilson

Where is it?

The superyacht set flock to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina for the end-of-season Formula One grand prix, and their epic aft deck parties keep pace with the drivers battling it out on the circuit. If you are looking to take your foot off the accelerator, head to the Etihad Towers – five gleaming skyscrapers that dominate the western end of the Corniche.

Why the hype?

The Ethiad Towers are equipped with everything you might need to unwind during a city break. The third tower is home to the seductively low-lit Talise Spa, its cavernous rooms equipped with free-standing rosewood plunge baths and twinkling lights. Once suitably pampered you can head for the Observation Deck at 300. Sitting on the 74th floor if offers 360-degree views and serves a traditional high tea as the sun melts into the sea in front of you.

What to have?

Start with the Four-tea Body Scrub that uses a combination of apricot oil, shea butter, bamboo powder and an elixir made of four teas to leave your skin glowing. Follow with a Signature Massage: the marble slab bed will gently warm any aching muscles and the therapist will use exaggerated stretching movements to ease away tension.

Best by boat:

Either leave your yacht at Yas Marina, which can accommodate yachts up to 150m, or berth next to the world’s largest yacht, Azzam, which is regularly moored in Zayed Port at the eastern end of the Corniche.
