Damen Yachting returns as title sponsor for 2022 Explorer Yacht Summit

24 August 2022

Damen Yachting will return as the title sponsor for this year’s Explorer Yacht Summit, which will be held at the Yacht Club de Monaco on November 10. Hosted in collaboration with ExplorerYachts.com the event is the only international summit dedicated solely to the expanding explorer yacht sector.

The Dutch conglomerate – which also builds Amels superyachts – is at the forefront of expedition yacht design with its SeaXplorer range. With two yachts already on the water, a custom 58 metre SeaXplorer is due for delivery later this year and the keel was laid on its first 60-metre model in February. Since 2009 the brand has also delivered 20 support vessels from 45 to 75 metres around the world.

“The explorer summit is a key industry event that drives the inspiration and ideation of one of the most exciting types of yachts…the expedition yachts,” said Damen Yachting’s marketing director Thomas Wieringa. “As leaders in the luxury expedition yachting, we want to fuel the interaction and reflect with fellow industry partners on what is cooking underneath the surface.”

The summit will take an in-depth look at aspects of the explorer yacht sector, with owners, captains and industry experts sharing their insights. Panel discussions will range from the growth of the adventure charter market to what explorer yachts of the future will look like. There will also be presentations from those with first-hand experience, including the captain of 60 metre Seahawk, which was given the Special Voyager's Award at this year’s World Superyacht Awards.

“The explorer sector of the market is undergoing rapid growth and development as owners continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with their yachts,” said BOAT International’s editor-in-chief Stewart Campbell. “Damen Yachting is at the forefront of this movement, and we are delighted to be partnered with them again for this deep dive into the expedition market.”
