Enrico Chieffi

Vice President, Nautor's Swan

Enrico Chieffi has been an essential member of the Nautor’s Swan team since 1998, and has overseen the introduction of many new models to the product line.

Chieffi’s success with Swan is only part of his sailing story. A bona fide renown competitor, he has an illustrious sailing CV, having competed in numerous World Championships and Olympics Games twice, first in the 470 and then in the Star Class . Setting a goal early in life to become a world champion, through hard work his goal became a reality in 1985 when Chieffi finished first place in the 470 World Championships in his home country, Italy. He and his brother Tommaso were the first Italians to ever win the prestigious Class. He next stage was the 1992 America’s Cup in San Diego where he was the tactician for the Il Moro di Venezia campaign.

Next, he chose to concentrate on the Star Class because the boat was the most challenging and the level of competition among its top athletes and champions was the best. In 1996 he won the World Championship in the Star Class. At home both on the water and in the boardroom, Chieffi now serves as Vice President of Nautor’s Swan and has the ability to speak with authority on all elements of sailing.
