With less than a month to go further details have been revealed about the social programme for the Superyacht Design Festival (February 8-10). Following a successful edition in Milan last year the event will return to the mountains in Cortina and the social activities will make the most of the stunning mountain setting.
The Superyacht Design Festival will open with the BOAT Design & Innovation Awards, where the naval architecture, styling, innovation and engineering of the world’s best superyachts will be recognised.
The awards ceremony will take place in the Alexander Girardi Hall and guests will then be invited to celebrate the winners at the Museum of Modern Art. Set in the centre of town, just a short walk from the ceremony, the museum’s curated collection of twentieth-century Italian art will provide the backdrop to an evening of drinks, traditional dishes and live entertainment.
The next day, following the opening day of the conference where speakers will include Marvel Studios' Art Director Cynthia Halley and the owner of 75 metre Kenshō, guests will be invited to gather for the Festival Social. With an “alpine chic” dress code the evening will include dinner and entertainment, with the party continuing until midnight.
The conference will conclude the next day with legendary designer Tim Heywood and attendees will then be invited to head to the Ski Cup & Après Ski Party, held in association with Lürssen. Chalet Tofane will provide the race base for skiers and supporters for the competition, with its terrace offering great views of all the action.
There will be four competitions this year – the Women’s Giant Slalom race, Men’s Giant Slalom, Snowboarding Giant Slalom and the Team Race. The latter will see participants form teams of three and then race again in a bid for the fastest combined time.
