Countdown begins for Superyacht Rendezvous Montenegro 2015

24 June 2015 • Written by Boat International

With one week to go before the event begins some of the finest motor yachts in the world are making their way to Porto Montenegro for the Superyacht Rendezvous 2015. We are delighted to be hosting such a fabulous fleet of superyachts, which has recently expanded to include another entry: Logica 147.

For a yacht whose start in life was anything but conventional, the rule-breaking superyacht Logica 147 has emerged not only great, but amazingly well adjusted. Her deceptively simple profile comes from the drawing board of Luca Brenta Design, a studio best known for the 37 metre Vitters sloop Ghost and its influential styling work with Wally Yachts. This, though, was the design team’s first motor yacht project, and its sailing pedigree is clear in Logica 147’s lean, low-slung styling. The more generous spaces afforded by a motor yacht meant Lorenzo Argento of Luca Brenta Design could let his imagination run wild, and this is most evident in the spectacular 5.5 metre pool on the roomy foredeck and sun-worshipping platform atop the upper deck’s coachroof.

Logica 147 joins an array of superyachts for the first edition of the Superyacht Rendezvous Montenegro and will partake in the glittering social programme our guests will enjoy over the three days.

The Embraer Executive Jets Lunch provides a perfect welcome for all owners and their guests in the beautiful surroundings of the Ribarkso Selo restaurant. Ribarsko Selo is Montenegrin for "Fishing Village" - an apt name as each day the local fishermen visit the restaurant and bring the freshly caught fish and seafood for the chef to prepare for his guests. All the culinary specialties that are created in the restaurant are made from the fresh ingredients and vegetables that the chef grows in the restaurant's garden.

All of the entries will berth side by side on Jetty One in superyacht heaven Porto Montenegro which will be a spectacular site - no more so than at the Yacht Hop as owners and their guests stroll from one amazing yacht to the other; taking the opportunity to be hosted onboard each superyacht. The evening continues with a Cocktail Competition hosted by Aries – Trieste Chamber of Commerce, where each yacht creates a prosecco based cocktail which is judged both on its appearance and taste. Whilst the competition is only intended as lighthearted fun, in the past the yachts take the event very seriously as they compete for the crown of creating the best cocktail!

The following day brings the highly anticipated Cruise in Company which sees all of the superyachts, including Alyssa (38.75m, Tansu), dock off and glide out into the beautiful Bay of Kotor. The procession of yachts will have the opportunity to take a private tour of Our Lady of the Rocks; a small man-made islet crowned with a beautiful 17th century church steeped in history and legend as well as the protected hamlet of Perast – the impeccably conserved jewel of the bay. Guests will then savor a lunch of excellent local produce at a charming restaurant set in the grounds of an 18th-century flour mill overlooking the Bay of Kotor and beside the gurgling Ljuta River. Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy a ride on Cantiere Savona's Luxi33 tender.

Saturday holds a day of cultural activities for our guests. There is an array of opportunities available to discover Montenegro from the extreme to the more leisurely. Canyoning through the Skurda Canyon in Kotor which involves abseiling, swimming, hiking and exploring these mountain cloaked caves might suit the adrenalin junkies of the group! A cycle through Lustica Peninsula passing by numerous pretty churches, olive groves and farms promises to provide a more relaxed look at the surrounding countryside. For those looking for both, hiking through Lovcen National Park (which is situated 965m above sea level) offers breathtaking views over the Loven Mountain range before guests are then treated to a barbeque.

The event climaxes with the Superyacht Rendezvous Party at Porto Montenegro Yacht Club which commences with a Misahara Drinks Reception. A live band will play under the stars and guests can dance into the night by the shimmering pool which overlooks the bay. Due to Montenegro's natural beauty the country is often called ‘the Pearl of the Mediterranean’; a perfect theme for the Superyacht Rendezvous Party.
