Superyachts gather for the Montenegro Rendezvous

1 July 2015

With only one day to go before the first edition of the Superyacht Rendezvous Montenegro opens in the beautiful Porto Montenegro Marina, a fleet of elite superyachts are docked on Jetty One ready for the event.

We are proud to announce a fleet including Alyssa (39m, Tansu), Exuma (50m, Vitruvious / Perini Navi), Infatuation (41.6m, Jongert), Komokwa (41m, Horizon Yachts), Lady Petra (41m, Heesen), Logica 147 (45m, Logica Yachts), Queen of Andaman (41m, Silyon Yachts) and Stella Fiera (41, Benetti) have arrived and are basking in the sunshine and sparkling waters of the Bay. They make a spectacular sight together and are creating quite a stir within the marina.

The Rendezvous begins tomorrow with the Embraer Executive Jets Lunch at Ribarsko Selo, a restaurant renowned for its stunning setting and delicious, fresh seafood.

Later that day the fun really begins with the Cocktail Competition hosted by Aries – Trieste Chamber of Commerce. Each yacht will present a Prosecco based cocktail to the judges who will mark it against its appearance and taste. Once the winner is declared and prizes awarded the Rendezvous' Yacht Hop begins! The Yacht Hop provides a fantastic opportunity for guests to go onboard these fabulous superyachts as well as the chance to catch up and meet all the other participants of the Rendezvous.

Friday brings the Cruise in Company. The superyachts will set off from superyacht heaven Porto Montenegro and head out into the Bay of Kotor for the Parade of Sail and aerial photo shoot; keep watching the Superyacht Rendezvous website for the latest images! The procession of yachts will then navigate towards Our Lady of the Rocks for the opportunity to take in a private tour of the historical landmark. A delicious lunch of local Montenegrin produce then awaits all our guests at the riverside restaurant — Stari Mlini. Yachts will then return to Porto Montenegro at their own leisure or perhaps take a spin on the Cantiere Savona Luxi33 tender. The day will then round off with a whiskey tasting by Misahara at the Regent Hotel.

Saturday holds a day of cultural activities for the guests. There are so many opportunities available to discover Montenegro; from the extreme to the more leisurely.

A hike along the spectacular Vrmac Ridge which divides the Bay of Kotor and the Bay of Tivat includes Austro-Hungarian fortress ruins and beautiful scenery. There is also a tour around the Savina Monastery which is one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in the Adriatic. It consists of three churches: two dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the monastery shelter with the treasury on the north side of the courtyard, and church of St. Sava, isolated on a nearby hill. Close to the monastery are some beautiful, sun-drenched vineyards, which are still bearing fruit much as they did back in the 18th century. Guests will have the chance to taste some of the vineyards produce. For the thrill-seekers in the group, there is the amazing experience of canyoning in the Skurda Canyon.

Those looking for more gentle exercise might like to cycle across the Lustica peninsula and pass by numerous churches and olive groves of stunning beauty. Guests can take in quaint rocky villages, conserved authentic architecture of Adriatic settlements, and visit a family who traditionally produces organic extra virgin olive oil. The culture day offers something for everyone and is a great opportunity to see what Montenegro has to offer.

The event finishes with the Superyacht Rendezvous Party at Porto Montenegro Yacht Club which commences with a drinks reception by Misahara. A live band will play into the night and guests will dance under the stars by the shimmering Bay of Kotor - a fitting end to an unforgettable Rendezvous.
