Boat International Media has announced that the ninth annual World Superyacht Awards gala evening will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on Saturday 3 May.

Established in 2005, the World Superyacht Awards are today the most coveted trophies in the superyacht industry. With the support of five of the world’s leading shipyards – Amels, Feadship, Heesen Yachts, Holland Jachtbouw and Royal Huisman, the 2014 prize-giving relocates to cosmopolitan Amsterdam, one of the greatest small cities in the world.

The prestigious silver Neptune statuettes will be presented during a glittering gala evening at Het Scheepvaartmuseum, the National Maritime Museum, witnessed by an audience of yacht owners and senior industry professionals from around the world. The original building dates back to 1656, and was built in the Golden Age, when Amsterdam was the largest port and market place in the world. Today, over 350 years later, it remains a beautiful and imposing landmark in the heart of Amsterdam, whose historic links to the sea make it the perfect location for the 2014 World Superyacht Awards.
