How was your charter season?
Very good. Q is a very popular yacht and we maintain her to the highest standard. She spent the summer chartering in Portofino, Capri and the Amalfi Coast. Our other yacht, Parsifal III, has been in the shipyard for a year. We’re doing lots of work on her as part of her 20-year survey and she’ll come out like a new boat. She has been used for multiple seasons of Below Deck.

What’s it like owning such a famous boat?
I never thought the show would be as big as it got. When we’re on Parsifal, we get a lot of attention – people think we’re part of the show, so they come up and ask us questions about certain people. We don’t watch the show so we’ve got no idea what they’re talking about!

I think the boat’s done 10 seasons of the show, which is wild. And it’s watched by five million people a week, or something like that. Our old captain, Glenn, is now a rock star. The other question people always ask is: why did you do it? I’m always honest – I did it for the money. The production company paid us very well for using the boat.

Are you heading across to the Caribbean?
By the time people read this, Q will already be there. We’re looking forward to getting down there and spending some time on board between the charters. I know there’s been some talk about an indifferent charter season, but we’re not feeling it; we already have weeks booked for summer 2026!

If no one takes the boat for Bucket week,  we’ll race on her. We love the Corinthian class as we don’t want to have 20 race crew. It’s much more fun with friends and family.
